Zebraplop (formed April 3, 2006) is a music project from Paintsville, Kentucky. The band was formed by cousins Andrew Preston and Emily Mills and is currently on hiatus. Biography The band was formed in spring of 2006 by cousins as a joke. The band revolved around comedic, very unusual music satirizing American culture and covering popular songs. However, as the band progressed, frontman Andrew Preston stated that a new, more serious style is being incorporated into the music. Work YouTube videos The band emerged when a series of viral videos were put on Youtube. The videos (specifically the lead single "Cats Cats Cats") were hand-made animations and videos taken of the band's pets and drawings. The videos grew popular through use of Myspace and Purevolume His Crazy Mind The first album released by the band currently remains unfinished, but the songs are all available on Youtube and Myspace. Tracks: #Cats Cats Cats #Baby Goats #Bamph's Arrival #Foonlight Foonata #Mildred's Lament #Gren and Whet Breck #Bumbly Bees #Sniff the Glue #Mouse In a Cage Future Albums The band has since spoken of future music. Preston describes his own solo project as a much more serious developed sound, while Mills states that the band's original style of comedy and eccentric videos will be continued. She says that the band has several songs written and ready to record for a new album. Digital Band Members For much of the band's existence, it contained popular animated characters. These characters represented Preston and Mills in the band, and were even given intricate backstories and personalities. Triangle Chicken Jones A triangular chicken and the lead singer and guitarist of the band. Always optimistic, Triangle Chicken sings in a very high-pitched distorted voice. He has a wife and son who support the band in several of the videos. Jones is voiced by the actual lead singer of the band, Andrew Preston. Mildred Grunters An ex prostitute and victim of Tourette's Syndrome, Mildred is the pianist and other lead singer of the band. Mildred is known for her high pitched squeals randomly during the songs, often adding a sense of promiscuity to the music. Grunters is voiced by actual band member, Emily Mills. Foone Foone is the eccentric drummer of the band. He doesn't speak, but instead screeches. Foone is the primary songwriter of the band. The squeals he makes during songs are a sped-up version of a yawn.
