Zane Carney is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and actor from New York City. He was born in Manhattan on April 29, 1985 and raised in the West Village along with siblings Reeve Carney and Paris Carney. At the age of eight, Zane was cast in the sitcom "Dave's World" and the family moved to Los Angeles, finally making the West Coast their permanent home. Zane went to Hamilton High School and was featured in the Disney Channel reality series "Totally in Tune", as well as having a role in the film "My Giant". Zane chose to pursue jazz guitar, attending the University of Southern California and eventually playing with Jonny Lang and in the house band for Last Call with Carson Daly. Zane and the rest of CARNEY were offered positions in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark when Reeve Carney was cast in the title role, and Zane played Guitar 1 during the preview period through 2013.
In 2012 Zane began writing songs and performing as a solo artist, most notably at Rockwood Music Hall in New York and Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. His work attracted the attention of John Mayer when John was recruiting a band for the "Born and Raised Tour" of 2013. Zane currently performs as guitarist for John Mayer's band in addition to his solo project. His debut EP, "Confluence", was released in fall 2013 and debuted at #7 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts.
