Zack de Vries

(born December 12, 1989) Zack de Vries is a 19-year old male model from Botswana.
Background
Zack de Vries was born in 1989 in Mogoditshane, Botswana to Pieter and Paulina de Vries. He has an Afrikaner-German father from Namibia and a Portugese mother from Mozambique. At the age of 2, his parents moved from Botswana to Rwanda for his father's botanical work. However his time in Rwanda was short lived as his father's company extracted all employees in the beginning stages of the Rwanda genocide. The company then moved the family to Antananarivo, Madagascar and then again to the Antsiranana province. At the age of 10 his parents divorced and his mother moved back to Botswana, while he and his father stayed in Madagascar. At 16, he left Madagascar to do foreign exchange in New Zealand. There, in Auckland, he was discovered by model scouts from New York. He decided to reject their offer and also rejected several other offers as he wanted to model in Africa. He finally joined Vase Models in Cape Town as he wanted to be able to visit his mother in Gaborone. He has since walked for: Kenzo, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren and has done ads for H&M, Missoni, and Dsquared.
Personal Life
Zack speaks: Afrikaans, English, Malagasy, French, Setswana, and Sotho fluently. Zack also is in the process of learning Portuguese from his mother. Zack has been to every country in the world except for Afghanistan, Antarctica, and Iraq. Zack also has heterochromia, which he inheirited from his mother. Zack lives between Botswana and Madagascar and holds citizenship in both countries. He is currently dating Zimbabwean model, Kylie Snow. Zack's geneology has been traced back all the way to the 14th century. Geneology also shows he is distantly related to Penelope Tree, Charlize Theron, and J.M. Coetzee. He is also studying literature in Kimberly and is in the process of writing a book. He has a bulldog named, Rowdy.
