Aboo Thaabit

Isma’eel Muhammad Noor (, ) (born 1986 in Mogadishu, Somalia) is a Somali Islamic student of knowledge
Also known by the Kunya Aboo Thaabit, he has strived hard in trying to bring Muslims all over the world back to the fundamental teachings of Islam. His motto being, “Be an inspiration!”
Biography
Early life
Aboo Thaabit was born in 1986 to Somali parents in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Following the civil war in Somalia, he and his family emigrated to Sweden, where Thaabit was raised. He attended both Primary and Secondary education there, but due to a decision made by his parents the family moved to England and settled down in the city of Leicester in the Summer of 2002.
He completed his A levels and went on to apply for the Islamic University of Madinah and was accepted in the year of 2006. After graduating from the two year Arabic institute with excellence, he enrolled into the faculty of the Noble Qur'an and Islamic Studies but later on changed into the Faculty of Islamic propagation and tenants of faith due to personal reasons.
“I realized quite quickly that my community back home were in more need of the Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism) as opposed to Qiraa’at (different recitation of the Quran) “ said Aboo Thaabit.<ref name=hch />
He is currently enrolled at the University where he is a full time student.
Education
Even from a young age whilst growing up in Sweden the young Aboo Thaabit had a thirst for Islamic knowledge and he started of by memorizing the Quran from cover to cover, this was, as he put it “the best time of my life.<ref name=nhr />”
He moved onto studying the Arabic language and hadith with his father and other students of knowledge in his home town and then travelling both to Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Since his acceptance to the Islamic University of Madinah he has had the opportunity to sit with some of the great scholars of that country as well as studying Islam under their guidance.
Activities
He is the Imam of his local masjid in Leicester where he leads the daily prayers, gives the Friday sermon as well as leading Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan. He holds Islamic classes where he teaches students about the basics of Islam.

He is also very active online, runs the website www.khalduun.com which aims to encourage fellow Muslims to seek knowledge and learn about their faith regardless of age or gender.
