Youthink is a free magazine that was founded by two teachers in British Columbia, Canada in June 1999. Targeted at a youth audience, the magazine is written entirely by volunteer high school students with an interest in journalism . The goal of Youthink is to connect the diverse teen population with a common, positive magazine that is written entirely by high-school students. The magazine is published monthly (10 issues) by Youthink Publishing Inc. and also publishes 2 issues yearly of Youthink: Street Edition.
Youthink features articles on local events, youth opinions, career opportunities, fashion, movies, and music.
Since Youthink's establishment in 1999, young writers have had the opportunity to interview many renowned athletes, actors, musicians, and pop culture icons, including: Nelly Furtado, Fall Out Boy, Wyclef Jean, The Killers, Metallica, Black Eyed Peas, Jack Johnson, Feist, Maroon 5, and Tom Cruise.
In September 2007, Youthink expanded its distribution to include schools in Alberta, making it Western Canada's High School Magazine. Currently, almost 400 schools participate in the distribution of Youthink.
The magazine has office locations in Vancouver, British Columbia and Calgary, Alberta.
