Yeek

Yeeks are a fictional race of goblin-like humanoids found in the Angband family of roguelike games. Yeeks originated in the game Moria and have been present in every version of Angband as well as all its major variants. Yeeks are described as "Strange small humanoid" and can come in different colours depending upon what tribe they belong to. The most common yeeks are blue or brown but clear and black yeeks exist. The yeeks are ruled by their king Boldor and his son Orfax.

Yeeks are typically very easy monsters to defeat, in Moria at least. Folklore even holds that they are called "yeeks" because that is the sound they make if they are trod upon. Although black yeeks are unusually tough and master yeeks have some magic powers, there are no yeeks that normally require more advanced tactics than a few strokes with one's weapon. In the case of clear yeeks, who are invisible, it is nearly always possible to win by striking randomly or, if one is a mage, by firing an area effect spell at a nearby wall. Note that in Angband and later games yeeks are resistant to acid.

The history of the yeeks:
*Moria. Yeeks are first introduced, and five kinds exist.
*Angband. The king of the yeeks, Boldor and his son Orfax are introduced.
*ZAngband. The kamikaze yeek is added. Later versions also include the possibility to play as a yeek.
*Hengband. The president of the yeeks Noborta Kesyta is introduced. It also allows playing as a yeek.
*Gumband. The queen of the yeeks Dalfax is introduced and described as 8 feet tall, bright pink and the reason why Boldor (King of the Yeeks) and their son Orfax spend so much time in the dungeon. It also allows playing as a yeek.
*DrAngband and ToME. One may play as a yeek. They are bad at everything except gaining levels quickly.
