Yasser Hareb

Yasser Hareb is an author, columnist, and TV presenter from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). He has written several best-selling books, including “Take Off Your Shoes” which was forwarded by Paulo Coelho. Yasser also the co-founder of the internationally recognized Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, held annually in Abu Dhabi.
Books
Yasser published his first book, “Towards a New Thinking” in 2006, and since then has written multiple best sellers: Picasso and Starbucks in 2011, The New Slaves in 2013 and Take Off Your Shoes in 2015 forwarded by Paulo Coelho.
Columns
Yasser has been a columnist since 2004 and writes regularly for a number of newspapers in the region: Al Bayan (UAE), Gulf News (UAE), Al Wasat (Bahrain), Al Sharq (Saudi Arabia) and El-Watan (Egypt).
TV Programs
Yasser is the presenter of Ma Kal W Dal, a personal and social development program which airs annually during the holy month of Ramadan. The program equips viewers with practical tools to develop their skills, with the aim of fostering positive change in society. Ma Kal W Dal has been aired for 5 consecutive seasons in the Middle East.
Professional Experience
Yasser has held several positions at Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation as acting CEO and as Vice President of Culture and Education. Prior to that he was Director of Special Projects at The Executive Office of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He was also Secretary General of the Arab Strategic Forum and Director of Operations at the Dubai Institute for Human Development.
Yasser has also been the co-founder of several of social impact programs, including TARJEM (translate) and OKTUB (write). TARJEM was the biggest translation program in the Arab world in 2007, it ignited a translation movement resulting in over 1000 books being translated into Arabic in addition to training hundreds of Arab translators and establishing many publishing houses specialized in translating books into Arabic. OKTUB is an Arab Youth Development Program aimed at scouting young Arab talents having potential to become writers and authors.
Yasser is also the co-founder of The Muslim Council of Elders, an international body of prominent Muslim Scholars established to address conflict and fragmentation in Muslim communities. And the co-founder of The Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, an annual event which brings together prominent intellectuals and thinkers from around the globe in an effort to address conflicts within the Muslim Nation. The event was recognized by President Obama and the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Education
Yasser has a Bachelors in Information Systems, and is a graduate of several leadership programs.
