Yasmin Alhilli

Yasmin Alhilli was born on 5 April 1980, she was born in Muharraq, Bahrain and is Bahraini with Iraqi roots. She is a pioneer for women in sports in the GCC region of the Middle East.

Racing


Her debut was as a co-driver for Hassan Al Sadadi at the 2001 Dubai International Rally. They acheived 6th overall and 5th in Group N -the highest Hassan has ever acheived. She chose to drive instead of navigate in the 2002 FIA Middle East Rally Championship and debuted as a driver in the 2002 Bahrain International Rally. She advanced quickly through the first 2 stages and acheived better times that some more experienced teams however, technical maladies put an end to her driving debut in the 3rd stage of the 1st day.

She won the 2002 Jordan International Rally ladies' trophy as well as completing the UAE Desert Challenge in 24th place and beating the professional BMW X5 team.

Yasmin had a car accident and hurt her back, which put her out of a racing car and into a stadium and she is now the GCC's first woman to be licensed as by FIFA as a Player Agent.

Always a dreamer and a fighter, she dreams of being able to retire properly from racing with one final rally: Paris-Dakar.


Other Achievements
Assistant Coach Under-17 Boys, Manama Club

-the team had gone 5 years without winning a trophy, and when Yasmin joined in 2001, the boys achieved runners up in the league and won the Cup

General Manager, Riffa Club

-Yasmin was the first Arab woman to be General manager of a Football Club, however she left due to numerous problems which alienated her as she was a female in a "man's world". She wrote her resignation on January 1st 2006.

Consultant, Muharraq Club

-Yasmin joined Muharraq Club (Riffa's rivals) shortly after leaving Riffa. Since being part of the Red wolves, they have achieved the following:

* 2005/06 League
* 2005/06 Crown Prince's Cup
* 2005/06 Runner's up at AFC Cup
* 2006/07 League
* 2006/07 Crown Prince's Cup
* 2007/08 League
* 2007/08 King's Cup

-her most notable acheivement was supporting the Basketball team to their first League title, something Muharraq has never achieved since they started playing the sport at the club 30 years ago

Current

Yasmin has moved to Doha, Qatar to continue her work as a Sports Management Consultant.
