Cian Byrne

Cian Byrne (born 16 February 1989 in Drogheda is an amateur Irish football goalkeeper who currently plays for Drogheda United in the League of Ireland.
Cian was promoted to the first team of Drogheda United during the 2007 season and made his senior debut against Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland Cup on the 8 May 2007. He failed however to make another appearance for Drogheda United and subsequently left the club in the middle of the 2008 season. He returned to the League of Ireland for the 2009 season, when he joined UCD, but yet again failed to make an appearance for the club and as a result, left the club during the season to go travelling in Australia. In 2011, he signed for Drogheda United.
Before he joined Drogheda United he played for junior sides Drogheda Boys and Albion Rovers.
He is a cousin of former Fianna Fail TD Thomas Byrne.
