Yahweh and Allah

Yahweh and Allah are the personal names of the Gods of the Bible and Qur’an, respectively. They share many similarities and many dissimilarities.
Transcendental similarities
Yahweh and Allah are both the creator god. Both are believed to be omnipotent, omni-benevolent and omnipresent, among other things.
Dogmatic differences
Allah and Holy Trinity
In the declaration Nostra Aetate, the Second Vatican Council declares that Yahweh and Allah can in fact be the same God, but only when it is understood as the Holy Trinity. Arab Christians will commonly use the term Allah to speak of the Holy Trinity.
However, Islam does not accept the dogma of the Holy Trinity, per the Qur'an. The Christian beliefs regarding incarnation and the crucifixion are also not shared by Muslims.
Differences in immanence
Unlike Yahweh, in whose image human have been created, according to , Allah didn't create humans in his own image.
Furthermore, whereas Yahweh in the Old Testament has chosen the people of Israel over other nations (), Allah doesn't show any priority of importance towards any individual or nation.
According to the Qur'an, Allah does not have any sons , while according to the Bible, Jesus Christ is not only the Son of God and some Christians also believe that Jesus is Yahweh.
In contrast, Albeit the Greek New Testament does not use the word "Yahweh," the Old Testament titles for Yahweh like "redeemer" are applied in the New Testament to Jesus. Moreover, the terms kurios and theos, which are substituted for Yahweh in the Septuagint, are used in reference to Jesus in the Greek New Testament.
Disputes
Some Christian evangelical leaders have denounced Allah as a false god. Allah has even been compared to Baal.
Prominent Christian theologians have also stated that Allah is not the same being as Yahweh; they include James White, Pat Robertson, Albert MohlerJohn F. MacArthur
In his critique of Allah, Pat Robertson has focused on the soteriology of Islam,
First of all, the God of the Bible is a God of love and redemption, who sent His Son into the world to die for our sins. Allah tells people to die for him in order to get salvation, but there is no understanding of salvation.
On the other hand, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that Muslims along with Roman Catholics adore the same "one, merciful god." Pope Benedict XVI did not differentiate between God and Allah in the course of his Islam controversy in 2006. George W. Bush has likewise stated,"I believe we worship the same god."
Allah as the name for the Islamic God has led to violence in Malaysia. This is mainly because "Allah" denotes the strict monotheistic belief whereas the word "God" refers to the Trinitarian monotheistic Christian Godhead.
