The Arabic Bible (Islamic), as opposed to the Greek Bible (Christian), is a term that could be used to refer to the Quran, Islam's holy scripture which is written in Arabic (not to be confused with Arabic translations of the Christian Bible). Languages worldwide tend to use Arabic words when referring to most things Islamic. This is especially true in the West. Unlike the linguistic and cultural evolution that occurred in Christianity over centuries (transforming Christianity from a Middle Eastern religion to a largely Western one), Islam has not been able to detach itself from its Arabic roots. Even the word Islam, meaning 'submission', is an Arabic import. In fact, the Arabic language has dominated Islam to the extent that replacing Arabo-Islamic words like Quran with 'Arabic Bible' and Muslims with 'Submittors' seems so strange that even non-Muslims may find it awkward.
