World Academy of Tirana is an English-using international school in Tirana, Albania. This September 2010 it will be opening its doors and providing a new choice for international education in Tirana. At World Academy of Tirana children will be part of a co-educational, international, English language learning environment that will foster their abilities and enable them to become internationally minded people. Its international curriculum follows a transdiciplinary approach with cross-subject learning. Students range from 6 to 10 years old. Curriculum The Primary program will follow an inquiry-based program centered around six transdisciplinary themes. These six themes incorporate all subject areas. • English Language • Mathematics • Social Studies • Science • Arts (Visual Arts/ Music/ Drama) • Physical Education/ Health • Information Technology • French Language • Albanian Language • English as a Second Language (ESL) Facility The school will be housed in 2 beautifully renovated villas and will offer brand new state-of-the-art facilities including: • Classrooms with Interactive Whiteboards • A Library/ Media/ Resource Centre • Computer Laboratory • Science Laboratory • Arts Studio • An Indoor Dance/ Drama/ Music Studio • A Large Playground and Garden Location The school is located in a beautiful residential area of the capital not far from the city’s lake and forest just outside of inner ring road.
