History
In 1990, the new Dive Bar was constructed and opened next to the old building on the current site.

In March 2005, the first male Vice-President for Education and Welfare was elected.

In early 2006 a car crashed through the large windows in the Dive Bar closing the bar for a short time and disrupting the scheduled entertainment events.

During the summer of 2006 a fire ripped through the offices of the union building. Refurbishments were completed in time for Freshers Week 2006.

In November 2007, an Extraordinary General Meeting was held to pass resolutions beginning the charting of a new future for the institution. The assembled members voted in favour of commencing a Governance Review which will alter the structure and operation of the union to better suit its members in the 21st century.
