History
Wolverine Carbide and Tool, originally the Wolverine Carbide Die Company, was founded in 1965 by Gus Stavropoulos, and quickly became the premier manufacturer of high-precision tools and dies for the metal-forming industry. In 1972, the company developed know-how in the manufacture of tools for specialty gears, drive train and suspension components. The company was among the first in the industry to pioneer digital transmission of data between the global engineering and design centers of its customers and Wolverine's main facilities, in effect becoming their specialized “Tool-Room-For-Life.”
In October 2008, Wolverine Carbide merged with Direct Tool, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cold Heading Company of Warren, MI. In November 2008, all manufacturing was consolidated within its state-of-the-art facility located in Roseville, Michigan. By consolidating, they became the leading cold heading die company in one location in the state of Michigan.
