Winter Plummer (16 Aug 1982 - 30 Apr 2010) served in the United States Army for four years. She was deployed in armed combat for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006 for one year and served the rest of her tour of duty as a 25Q Multichannel Radio Operator. Honors received during service include an Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medal<nowiki/>s, a Meritorious Unit Award, a National Defense Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Bar<nowiki/>s, and a Combat Action Badge. She was 27 years old when she was killed by her husband, Sergeant Sheldon Plummer.
