Winter were an Irish progressive rock band who received much critical acclaim for their live performances in the 1980's and 1990's and for their debut E.P. titled 'Across The Circle's Edge' which was released in both Vinyl format and CD format by SI Records] in 1992. This album has become a much sought after collectors item among progressive rock fans around europe. Winter line up 1987 to 1991: Johnny Lennie: vocals Rab Beggs: electric / acoustic guitars Phil Murray: keyboards / additional vocals Rick Loyer: bass guitar John Murphy: drums / percussion Discography: Across The Circle’s Edge - released on Circle’s Edge Records in August 1990 in vinyl format. This was in fact a 6 track E.P. released initially with the intention of attracting a recording contract but later to become a favourite among many progressive rock fans throughout Europe. Track Listing: Side 1: Technocracy The Betrayal of Reason Close Your Eyes Side 2: Evengate Toybox Winter… All songs written and performed by Beggs, Lennie, Loyer, Murphy, Murray Produced by: Lawrence Thompson Recorded at: Level One Studios, Newtownards and Dove Studios, Belfast Across The Circle’s Edge - released on SI Records, Holland in 1992 in CD format. The original master tape from the vinyl recorded was re-mastered for the CD version.
