William Cabot

William Cabot was the fictional Director of Central Intelligence in the 2002 film The Sum of All Fears, played by Morgan Freeman. Cabot was present at the Mount Weather, Virginia practice drill. Cabot summoned Jack Ryan to accompany him to the Senate Intelligence Committee when Russian President Zorkin died. Cabot also was present at the situation room in the White House and advised U.S. President J. Robert Fowler on issues and events.

He went with President Fowler to the Super Bowl in Baltimore, Maryland. He received a warning from Ryan about the stolen nuclear bomb and was able to evacuate President Fowler. However Cabot was seriously injured when the U.S. Presidential Motorcade was hit by the nuclear bomb's blast shockwave. Cabot was rescued, but later died at a makeshift hospital in Maryland.
