Widow Sunday is a industrial metal band formed in Framingham, Massachusetts in 2007. Widow Sunday was the nickname of Madame Dimanche, a 19th century Parisian woman who grew an 8-inch cutaneous horn from the center of her forehead in her late 70's. A wax cast of the abnormality can be found in the Mütter Museum. After recording their first EP Embracing the Beast Within, Widow Sunday signed with Rat Pak Records. After a few lineup changes, they then went on to recording and releasing their first full length album In These Rusted Veins. Widow Sunday decided to call it quits in August of 2012 due to a decline in sales of their trademark "Dance Metal" booty shorts.. Embracing The Beast Within (2007-2009) Widow Sunday formed from the ashes of East Coast bands in December 2007. The EP Embracing The Beast Within was released in early 2009 on Rat Pak Records/CM Distro. Tracks included are: "Strings of Clarity", "Of Shadows and Shotguns", "Human Virus", and "An Ode to Every You". Widow Sunday currently has a music video for the single "Strings of Clarity". In These Rusted Veins (2010-2012) In May 2010, Widow Sunday released In These Rusted Veins on Rat Pak Records/CM Distro. With a wide variety of genre's fused together, the band has been cited with influences such as Meshuggah, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, and Devildriver. In These Rusted Veins was produced and engineered by Shane Frisby (Bury Your Dead, , ) at the Brick Hithouse in Hyannis, MA, and mixed and mastered by Peter Rutcho (, The Year of Our Lord, Ravage) at Damage Studios in Southbridge, MA over the winter months of late 2009 into 2010. Widow Sunday released two music videos in support of In These Rusted Veins for their singles "Forever Sleep" and "Blood Money" directed by Punchdance. Dance Metal EP (2012-present) Widow Sunday released the Dance Metal EP on June 26th, 2012. It was recorded at Brick HitHouse with Shane Frisby and mixed by Pete Rutcho.
