Whisky Land is a song written in 2013 by former Bad Company guitarist and ROADWAY guitarist Ross McEwen. The track was written initially to be used by McEwen for his 2014 solo EP 'Nowhere Bound Train', however during the recording of the track McEwen suggested to Colwell to release it under his own name, citing that the song was far more in the vein of Colwell's previous material than what had already been written for 'Nowhere Bound Train'. Recorded by Colwell's solo band, featuring former Kavo vocalist Ronan Kavanagh, Whisky Land is set for a 2014 single release, it is the first new original material to be released by Colwell since his 2010 solo album 'Guitars, Beers & Tears'. Whisky Land is the first co-write by Colwell & McEwen. Writing took place in the summer of 2013 while Colwell was visiting McEwen at his home in Inverness Scotland. The song tells a story of a man longing to return home to Scotland (Whisky Land) after a failed relationship.
