West Midlands bus route 37 (Service 37) is a bus route in Birmingham, United Kingdom Route 37 is a bus route linking Birmingham with Solihull. The Route Service 37 runs between Birmingham City Centre and Solihull rail station, running mainly along the A41 Warwick Road, serving Digbeth (Birmingham Coach Station), Sparkbrook, Greet, Tyseley, Acocks Green, Olton and Solihull town centre. History Service 37 dates back to pre-deregulation. The service has vertically unchanged. Apart from the fact it now faces competition from Central Connect and has faced a number of other operators over the years. National Express West Midlands, have maintained a good service. The route has undergone a number of changes from better frequency to newer buses. The service was first upgraded with Volvo double deckers, which have been cascaded to West Bromwich Bus Garage. Then in 2004 the route got single decker Volvo B10L, which got cascaded to use on route 28 and 28A, when Perry Barr withdrew the MCW vehicles in 2007. In January 2007 service 37 got anther new set of of vehicles, the Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban vehicles which are now the choice on this service. They replaced the step entrance Volvo B10L's and means the route is once again low-floored after the withdrawal of Volvo double deckers. In recent times the frequency has been increased. At the last count there is a bus on service 37 every 5 minutes Monday-Friday daytimes. In May 2010, following the arrival of new buses at Acocks Green garage, the route is now entirely operated by NXWM using brand-new Scania OmniLink buses. However, these buses are no longer specially branded for this route, although competitor Central Connect does use a number of 'Touchwood Connection 37' branded buses. Service 37 starts to Twitter In 2009 National Express West Midlands launched a twitter page for the route as a trial. National Express West Midlands have trialled service 37 as the first route to have its own feed on Twitter, with much success. The page has a number of followers and shows that in a 24 hour environment in resent times that it had proved useful for passengers. It contains all updates, of delays and service levels, to remind passengers of Easter holiday timetable, the risks of ice and weather updates effecting the services.
