Wes Grantom

Wes Grantom (born October 18th 1980 )is the director of new plays, musicals, and classics.
Education
Grantom attended the University of Evansville for BFA Theater Performance.
Career
His recent directing credits include MINE by Bekah Brunsetter (Slant Theater Project), Sci Fi Bandits, a rock opera developed with indie-rock band CHAPPO (Ars Nova), Thujone by Mat Smart (Drama League DirectorFest), his own adaptation of Benjamin Franklin's The Way to Wealth (Williamstown), as well as the national tours of Click Clack Moo (TheatreworksUSA.) Wes has also directed for Berkshire Theatre Festival, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Asolo Rep, Stella Adler Conservatory and Millbrook Playhouse.
Along with playwright Mat Smart and director Adam Knight, Wes is a co-founder of Slant Theatre Project in New York City. Since 2004, Slant has proeuced sixteen full productions, including new work by Theresa Rebeck, Adam Rapp, Lisa Kron, Michele Lowe, Marcus Gardley, and Bekah Brunstetter.
His associate and assistant directing credits include the recent Broadway revivals of Waiting for Godot and Les Liaisions Dangereuses (Roundabout Theatre Company), Off-Broadway's Toxic Avenger the Musical, as well as projects at Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Alley Theatre, TheatreworksUSA, Asolo Rep, George Street Playhouse, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz.
Wes is a recipient of the Drama League Directing Fellowship, a member of Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and a graduate of the University of Evansville.
Current Projects
He is currently the associate director of the new musical "We The People: America Rocks," written by Joe Iconis, Brad Alexander, Kevin Del Aguila, Eli Bolin, Sam Forman, Tommy Newman, Ryan Scott Oliver, Adam Overett, Erik Weiner, Mark Weiner, Jordan Allen-Dutton and directed by Gordon Greenberg. It is being choreographed by Michele Lynch, and the music is directed and arranged by J. Oconer Navarro. The shows assistant director is Adam Quinn. The show stars actors, Badia Farha, Abe Goldfarb, F. Michael Haynie, Jamie LaVerdiere, Colin Campbell McAdoo, Justin Flagg and Brittany N. Williams. It is scheduled to open at the off-Broadway Lucille Lortel Theater.
Upcoming Projects
Grantom's upcoming projects include The Legacy Project, a new play by Mat Smart about military service based on a painting by Steve Alpert, a burlesque show based on the acts of Tansy Tan Dora and next spring, Tartuffe at Asolo Rep.
He is currently the associate director on Brief Encounter a new play directed by Emma Rice as well as the assistant director on the new musical Little Miss Sunshine (based on the movie,) directed by James Lapine.
