"This face wants on my iPhone". The origin of this is July 24, 2010, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 4 by Apple, Inc. The iPhone 4 is regarded as the "thinnest smartphone on the planet". The fad began as a T-shirt worn by two iPhone fanboys to the iPhone 4 launch party. These particular Apple fanatics are often debated on Facebook by their Android loving friend whom is depicted in the T-shirt. A Facebook fan page has been created to gain support for the cause - converting Android users to iPhone. The a secondary underlying theme of this group is to depict people who wish to purchase the iPhone but due to high demand have not been able. The first and second shipments have been reported as sold out. This also touches on the "phone envy" reported by users of other smartphones. This phrase has also become a term in Urbandictionary.com . |
