Wendy Grantham

Wendy Grantham (also spelled Wendi Grantham, born c.1968) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as the sweet-natured stripper Shardene Innes in the HBO crime series The Wire.
She is a graduate of Harvard University, where she was a member of the Black Students Association. She was involved in a dispute with Professor Stephan Thernstrom, in which she and other African-American students took him to task for the content of his course "The Peopling of America", accusing him of "racial insensitivity".
In recent years, she has been involved in Key Arts Productions, a Philadelphia-based performance arts organization which presents topics such as Martin Luther King, the Civil Rights Movement and African-American musical history in a multi-media format that aims to be both entertaining and informative.
