WeCreate

We-Create Inc. is a privately held Canadian internet software company, headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario.

Corporate History

We-Create started in 1998 as a sideline hobby business of four university students, each with a passion for creation and the digital arts. As demand for their skills grew, they specialized in Internet applications that enabled businesses to interactively engage their customers.

We-Create incorporated in 1999 under the name We-Create Inc. and then hired Bill Waters, a successful Waterloo, Ontario businessman and entrepreneur who eventually became the company's CEO. Working with non-profit, not-for-profit and other social and sports organizations We-Create developed an identity as a company that cares about the regions and businesses they serve commercially. In 2003 We-Create also developed an interactive online system for KW Oktoberfest as part of their community involvement initiatives.

In 2001 they developed TotalTeams.com which was intended to serve as an online application to allow rural, house-league sports organizations to communicate with and engage their kids and parents more completely in sport. Fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork and friendships were the goals of the system, while also allowing scheduling, scores and statistics to be collected and shared. This product has since been deactivated and incorporated directly into the sites of organizations like the Waterloo Minor Hockey Association.

A direct result of the technology created for TotalTeams.com was a new product called ConnectorSite in 2002. The goal was to bring the power of local engagement and social interaction to local small businesses. This service gave many small businesses access to the arena of Internet marketing at a time when people were just starting to use the Internet to make decisions about which businesses to shop at, even if not online.

In 2004 We-Create was hired by 105.3 KoolFM to build a next generation radio communications system. The goal was to more fully engage their 200k+ listenership online in ways that few other stations in North America were doing. This project eventually became the flagship deployment for a whole new product line called ConnectorRadio. ConnectorRadio debuted as a hot new product at the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Trade Show in September of 2007 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In May of 2007 We-Create launched a rough-beta of the ConnectorLocal.com platform. A system that is designed from the ground up to help people discover events, businesses and neighbours within driving distance of where they live. Combined with We-Create's partnerships at radio stations like 105.3 KoolFM, Oldies1090, 102.3 BobFM this system continues to grow and is expected to exit the beta stage in early 2008.

We-Create Inc. now employs over 25 people, and is continuing to expand.
