Gratantial is one of the newest and most stable small global businesses (as of 2010). The company originally started of with making official support groups with permission of the original company but with limited success. Its biggest current operation is MaxLite (Which was started with the use of SocialGO network builder) and has just had a major site reconstruction which included the integration of Facebook Connect. On the 5th of October the new website was unveiled. Currently a new web browser using the Gecko layout engine is being planned. Between 2013 and 2014 expansion will start and Gratantial will go into retail. Locations Currently Gratantial has two offices - both based in Lincoln but both at opposite ends of the city meaning anyone wanting services and living in Lincoln or near can easily access an office. The two offices are run by the founder and the COO. There are plans to add more offices in Leicester, Nottingham and Essex, these should be finished by late 2012. Unnsuccessful Start Gratantial was started in July 2008 by Peter Spering alone as an advertising business which would gain permission from a company to make groups which people could join as they were 'Officially endorsed' but they only gained endorsement from Fender, Cadburys and Nissan but the groups were very unsuccessful. Throughout the months the company tried other things such as a video site called Enigma videos which was similar to YouTube but like the advertising campaign's the site success was very limited and never gained much attention. In November of the same year the business was made defunct. Restart as a Ltd Company Gratantial was re-started in June 2009 as a Limited Liability Partnership between Peter Spering and Chelsea Burrell. Between them, they started a social networking site called MaxLite using Ning network builder and gained modest success but the site has recently been closed down and is now operating on SocialGO network builder. Most of the sites success overall has been gained by people from the Lincolnshire area but it has had some from North America as well. June 2009 to June 2010 it became one of the most stable small business globally and is one of the few that have survived through the Recession. Currently Gratantial has a temporary eBay shop called Quotix running until the release of the proper website which is due in early 2011. Criticisms *Members of Business Link criticized Gratantial because it wasn't planned and most decisions made were rational rather than thought out. *Even though the business has grown, the growth is not considered large and this is most likely because of the 'rational' decisions that were made. *It was thought that if the business owner (Peter Spering) had funded more money into setting up the business, it would have grown at a faster rate. Talks with Facebook In early 2010 Gratantial did talks with Facebook about buying a small share of Gratantial as a 'potential profit maker' but Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was not interested in the idea and decided to let Facebook have no participation in the idea. Rumours *It is rumoured that they shall expand into Japan between 2016-2020. *There is a chance that they could expand again and go into the music business.
