Wayne Crookes

Wayne Crookes is a Vancouver businessman and former Green Party organizer.
In 2006, he filed a lawsuit against several blogs for alleged defamatory postings. In 2007, he expanded the lawsuit to include Google and the Wikimedia Foundation, two of the largest internet companies on the internet, among others, charging that they allowed anonymous users to post defamatory content. Crookers also sued Michael Geist, who published a column criticing Crookes' lawsuit..
In October 2008, the BC Supreme Court, in one defamation lawsuit he filed against p2pnet.net because the site hyperlinked to unfavourable articles about him, ruled against Crookes. The judge ruled that while "a hyperlink provides immediate access to material published on another website, this does not amount to republication of the content on the originating site."
