Wasseem Kabbara

Wasseem S. Kabbara is a Lebanese American who currently is living in Casablanca, Morocco. He graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences from the College of Management of the University of Massachusetts Boston. In 1984 he spent few months as an adviser to governments of Madagascar and Malta on improving their trade relations with the Middle East. From 1985 to 1992, through being an independent director, he advised companies on financial restructuring and strategic developments. He had held many Directorships with American and multi-national corporations, such as the Moseley Holding Corporation, Bengulf USA, and Excalibur Ventures. In 1993, he became CEO of NEXT USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Next plc, one of the largest clothing retailers in the United.
In 2003, he founded the Freedom and Peace Trust, a Boston-based non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the mental well being of the Iraqi people suffering from PTSD and other psychological illnesses. He had spearheaded the efforts to train Iraqi psychologists and psychiatrists by sponsoring training seminars in Kuwait and Beirut. Under his auspices, the Freedom and Peace Trust arranged for and distributed at the grassroots level more than $20 million in aid to the Iraqi people during the period 2003-2005. Since 2005, he has been the Managing Partner of MOR CONSULT, a Casablanca-based strategic and investment banking firm. He continues as a trustee of the Commonwealth Charitable Fund and is the main corresponding contact for the Freedom and Peace Trust.
