Warren Wain Lee

Warren Lee (Hindi: वोरेन� ली) (Born: 28th July 1987 in Delhi, India) is an English cricketer who represented Kent County Cricket Club 2nd XI in 2007. He is a Right Arm Fast Medium Bowler and a Right Handed Middle Order batsman.

Early Years...

Lee is the younger of two sons born to Russell and Priya, both enthusiastic cricket fans. His older brother, Barry also played cricket at county age group for Middlesex. Lee was born and brought up in the capital city of Delhi in India where he spent many a day in the streets playing Tape Ball cricket. His passion for cricket developed at a young age and after the family's migration to England in 1999 when Lee joined Blackheath cricket club (Kent Premiere League) aged 13. Lee started cricket as a batsman but due to a rapid growth spurt took up fast bowling. Lee has been associated to Kent County Cricket Club since the age of 13 having represented all age groups upwards. Lee was a pupil at Eaglesfield School and Shooters Hill College, both in South East London. Lee has learned most of his adult cricket at Blackheath under the guidance of coach and player Chris Swadkin.

Kent career so far...

Lee was recommended by coach Chris Swadkin at the age of thirteen to Kent CCC. Lee impressed coaches at all age groups and at the age of 15 was entered into an emerging players programme. At age 17, Lee was selected as a scholar on the Kent CCC academy where he spent two winters under the guidance of coach Paul Farbrace and has since been representing Kent CCC 2nd XI. Lee made his 2nd XI county championship debut in 2005 against Derbyshire CCC taking 3 wickets. In his second county championship match against Nottinghamshire CCC 2nd XI Lee claimed 6 wickets. In the summer of 2005 The ECB announced under 19 Regional Squads for One Day matches to be played at the National Cricket Centre, Loughborough and following steady performances Lee was named in and represented the South East Regional Academy Squad.

Bowling

Lee is a Right Arm Fast Medium Bowler capable of swinging a cricket ball in both directions. Lee stands at 6ft 4inches and is known for bowling a very well disguised slower ball and yorker. In 2007-2008 Lee played 1st Grade cricket for Stockton, New South Wales in Australia. He took 25 wickets in 11 games at an average of 13.7 and an economy of 2.30.

Batting

Lee bats right handed and is an aggressive player know for his prolific boundary hitting. At club level Lee bats in the middle order and at County level Lee bats in the lower order.
