Alistair Day-Stirrat

Alistair Day-Stirrat (born 27 June, 1980, Stourbridge, England) is a cricketer who is the current captain of the Lithunian national cricket side.
Day-Stirrat was born in England and completed most of his education there, gaining a masters degree in Social Anthropology from University College London. It was his studies that took him to the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius in 2005. Initially he set up a real estate investment company there called Someplace Else Lithuania but in 2008 he was invited to join the board of directors at Odontika, who work in the field of medical tourism. He also continues to study, specialising in Archaeologies of Post-Socialist Property Privatisation and Consumerism.

Day-Stirrat is a bowling all-rounder. He played for teams as a boy in the Birmingham area and his passion moved with him to Lithuania where he helped set up the national side. He is a right-handed batsman who on occasion opens the batting for the Lithunians, while his main role is as the team's spinner bowling off-spin. In Lithuania's inaugural (unofficial) international against Latvia in 2008 he top scored with 46 runs and claimed 3 wickets for 24 runs. Day-Stirrat continues to help cricket develop in the Baltic country where there are now 43 registered players and two official teams.
