Walter Ehrich

Walter Ehrich was a Magistrate of the Magistrates' Court of Queensland from 1994 to 2009.
Pre-judicial career
Ehrich was educated at Marist College Ashgrove, before becoming a solicitor in private practice as a partner of a number of firms. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Monash University, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Queensland and was completing a Master of Arts (MA) degree at the University of New England
Magistrate
On 10 October 1994 Ehrich was sworn in as a Magistrate. He commenced in Brisbane before moving to Emerald in 1997. From Emerald, he visited many locations to conduct court while on circuit. He transferred to Beenleigh in 1999 and back to Brisbane
in 2005. For two of the last three years His Honour was the Industrial Magistrate, and for one year the Murri Court Magistrate. He retired at the statutory retirement age on 12 August 2009.
Post-retirement
Ehrich was promptly appointed as a Relieving Magistrate after his retirement.<ref name = "MC-AR-2009-10"/>
