Walnut Square Mall is a one-story shopping mall located in Dalton, Georgia. The mall opened on July 23, 1980, when the mall opened, its anchors were Sears, Loveman's, and Belk. JC Penney later moved from their location in downtown to the mall on the east end in 1981. In 1986, Proffitt's acquired Loveman's. Goody's Family Clothing was later added on the southeast side of the mall in 1990. A nine screen Carmike Cinemas moved into the mall in 1993 from their former location one block away. In July 2006, Belk acquired Proffitt's, and the former location became Belk Home and Kids. The mall was developed and built by CBL and Associates, and is owned by them as well.
