Walid Al Massih

Walid Georges Al Massih (born June 7, 1982), better known as Walid Al Massih, is a Lebanese record producer, composer and musician.
Walid's first full credit production work was in 2004 on Shah Lounge for a club of the same name in Beirut that he used to perform at. After further successful work on Ragheb Alama's 2009 album Baasha’ak and Maya Nehme's 2009 single War’a Bayda, Walid became a prominent producer for Arabic pop artists.
He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Ragheb Alama, Maya Nehme, Belime, UTN1 and Star Academy’s Myriam Atallah. He has also produced tracks for others, including an official remix of the widely popular song “She Wolf” by internationally acclaimed artist Shakira. Walid has also produced scores for movies. Currently, Walid is working on a self-titled solo album.
Early life
Walid Georges Al Massih was born on June 7, 1982 in Anfeh north of Lebanon, where he was raised. Al Massih first began playing the Oud at the age of 7 and won many youth competitions and the like. Later, Walid started playing the guitar and expanded into rock music. The teenaged Al Massih would be joined by his brothers Jihad and Wissam Al Massih in what would be the start of his live performance career. After moving to playing keyboards and working in many of Beirut’s top clubs, Walid would use his connections to secure his first work as a producer in an album named after a prominent club “Shah Lounge”. Singer and “Arab Superstar” Ragheb Alama heard his material and began working with him. Later, Walid would produce one of Ragheb’s most successful hits to date, “Yighib”. It was at that time that Walid would found his record label and production house New Wave Productions to become one of the most prominent producers in the region.
Career
2007-Present
Walid Al Massih produced songs including Maya Nehme’s “War’a Bayda”, Myriam Atallah’s hit single "Aman", and spawned many hits that followed. It was at that time that his collaboration with famed Lebanese mastering engineer Tony Haddad began, and he began expanding his label. After further success in the nightlife scene, Walid’s home studio expanded to include 3 studios spread around Lebanon with plans for more in the region.
New Wave Productions 2009-Present
Walid Al Massih’s recording studio in Mansourieh, Matn District in Lebanon began an official expansion in 2009 when a Video division was launched. Al Massih was joined by partners Karim Noujaim and Hassan Fallouji from UTN1 and began collaborating with top tier Arabic composers and one of the only English producers in the region, Charbel Ghanimé. Studio A of New Wave Productions was conceived and developed in Zouk Mikael in Lebanon with Noujaim and Fallouji, while Studio B was launched with mastering engineer Tony Haddad in Achrafieh. This full service audio and video production center was built with plans for regional expansion.
Personal life
Walid Al Massih has a son from a previous marriage named Gary.
