Waldimar Ping-ay

Waldimar Niño Ping-ay, (born December 25, 1978) is a Filipino Politician who served three consecutive terms as Sangguniang Bayan Member Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur. He was first elected as a Sangguniang Bayan Member in 2010 and was re-elected in 2013 and 2016.
Background
Ping-ay was born in Santa Cruz to Engineer Jose R. Ping-ay and Victoria Ping-ay. He resides with his family in Santa Cruz,. His wife, Engr. Elizabeth Ping-ay is the Proprietor of their business Waldy Construction, His Father, Jose, is a former representative of the Coop-NATCCO Partylist at the House of Representatives. , His Mother, Victoria, is an incumbent Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Suyo and formerly served as Barangay Chairman from 2002 to 2014. His youngest sibling Ridam also served as Brgy. Chairman from 2014 to 2018 while his younger brother, Jose Jr., is the incumbent Barangay Chairman of Paringao, Bauang, La Union.
Political career
At a very young age, Waldimar has been involved in public service He started as SK Chairman from 1996 to 2002 and later on served as Brgy. Kagawad for three consecutive terms from 2002 to 2010. In the May of 2010 Philippine general election Ping-ay Family was overwhelmed by the results of the election, Waldimar won and become municipal councilor of Santa Cruz, his parents and younger brother the incumbent Congressman Jose Ping-ay, Brgy. Chairman Victoria and Brgy. Kagawad Ridam was once again re-elected. On His second term in office as Sangguniang Bayan Member He garnered the highest number of votes and was once again re-elected for his third term in office in the 2016 election. Due to the term limit, Waldimar aspired for a higher position that once obtained by his father, on the 2019 election he runs for as a Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member for the second district of Ilocos Sur under PDP-LABAN however Ping-ay lost in the official vote counts conducted by COMELEC.
