vyTool is central configuration resource management tool for Vyatta-based systems. It is also known as Vyatta router automation tool. With vyTool Vyatta admins can generate system configurations (using pre-defined config samples), OpenSSL certificate/private key pairs (using built-in OpenSSL CA) and SSH public key collections. Recent vyTool versions support config partials to extend core system functionality. vyTool must be installed in one location, generally on some secure central server. Every router manageable with vyTool uses vyInstall utility to download and install vyTool stuff: configs, keypairs, public keys, etc. vyTool/vyInstall couple can be used to automate Vyatta-related routines, save admin's time and prevent errors, caused by human factor. WEB-interface for vyTool is planned on 2011. Q4. However, according to it's official site, vyTool is still not a productional software, which limits it's use to non-commercial and research projects only.
