Vrieling, also written as Vrielink, is an old wealthy Dutch family of entrepreneurs, bankers, jurists, doctors and civil servants. The family came originally from the Dutch town of Haren. In the course of the generations the family spread further over the rest of the Netherlands and Europe. The family was known and important for being involved in the brick-making and brewing industries, but often also to science, art and local politics. The family soon built interests in factories and began trading. It has since diversified its interests into shipping and retail. The family bought different estates in the Netherlands, especially in the north of the Netherlands.
