Edward Dolan

Edward Dolan was an Early 16th Century author who wrote many famous literary pieces.

Youth

Edward Dolan was born at Colonus, just outside Athens, Greece in 1496.

His parents were wealthy merchents in that Athens city. This allowed Dolan to be able to receive a suitable education, a well rounded life, and an entire library of works which moved him toward his later pursuit of literature. Dolan first found his interest of literature intriging at the young age of 14 years old. Thus, leaving him a long span of time to cultivate his new found love.

Influences

Dolan's long life spanned across many important historical events including numerous wars in Europe that can be deeply seen throughout Dolan's works.

While at the time many artists were making their name known such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, Dolan was expressing his views on life through words.

There are many references to the art world in Dolan's works showing how Dolan was greatly influenced by the many artists in his past and in his present.

First Works

Dolan's first work was Limitations of Human Existence written in 1519, this story was one of the first pieces ever to show how frail and useless humans actually are and how small they are against the entire world.

His next few stories were Interigation of Kowledge (1524), and Unhappy Citizens (1535) after this Dolan did not write another story for thirty-two years.
