Vishal Saxena

Vishal Saxena (born 15 April 1986) is an Indian fashion photographer. The Mumbai-based photographer transformed his childhood passion for photography into a prolific career with projects such as print campaigns for IPL Pune Warriors., Rajnigandha, Mahindra and Mahindra, DigJam, Starwood Hotels and India Tourism.
He hails from Ranchi. where he completed his schooling and then shifted base to Mumbai, to graduate from Bachelors in Business Management. from C.M.T.E College.
Speaking on his love for photography and his journey, Vishal says,"My love for photography isn't something that just suddenly developed one day. I had a creative mind since childhood. In fact I used to paint objects, landscapes, faces and was really fascinated with Hollywood films. After completing my education, I was realized that photography was my true calling".
Saxena adds, "I had been honing my skills as an amateur for over ten years. I am truly lucky that it’s almost as if photography is an inbuilt skill I was born with. I've always been a keen observer and that has really contributed to my art. Even today I don't use a light meter and I must say the results are accurate".
Equipment
Vishal says he loves to shoot on Hasselblad; Elaborating on his choice of equipment, he adds, "it's a full-frame camera and its pixel quality is amazing! I love Canon as well as it has good depth and sharpness. You know, this may sound crazy but I'm old school when it comes to post-production!! My editing is done on set, on location!"
Vishal likes to use editing with a minimal approach! "You can't put soul in your work once you are done shooting — that's not honest! Which is why the biggest challenge for me as a photographer is my struggle as an artist," says Vishal.
Philosophy
"I know it's to early to make a declaration but completely putting my camera aside is never going to happen. I would still need my camera even in heaven and MY request to God will be, 'SAY CHEESE'
Movie posters
Apart from fashion photography Vishal has also worked on many movie posters. Some of his notable works include Karan Johar's Kurbaan which led to his long association with Satya director Ram Gopal Varma.

Uttar Pradesh calendar
The calendar was created under the guidance of the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri. Akhilesh Yadav. The calendar captured beautiful sculpture and historical monumental of Uttar Pradesh. The motto was to promote Uttar Pradesh tourism. The calendar comprises Seven Wonders of the World Taj Mahal also shoot in various cities like Agra, Lucknow, Mathura, Varanasi, bundelkhand Buddh Circuit.

Vishal Saxena is the trustee of TAKE CARE FOUNDATION. Every month he and his team mates contribute 10% of their income to social service. For example free medical camps for poor people, food distribution in slums, and street beggars. His vision is to provide support and help to people in need.
