Virtucity

Virtucity is a freeware city building/simulation game created by Mark Waybill. Whilst itself not open source, a sister project City Simulation Game Template is, and utilizes much of the Virtucity source code. Virtucity is developed by the project team with headquarters at the project proboard. It is one of a number of city building game projects whose aim is to create a game as good as what Simcity 5 would have been, as a result of Simcity 5 not being made and rather Simcity Societies which received poor reviews from many Simcity fans. It is written using Game Maker like several other of these projects. It was begun in late 2005 and is made using Game Maker software. It's playing style is similar in many respects to Simcity 2000.
