Virtual Dispatch

Virtual Dispatch Limited is a Canadian-based company that provides transportation management software for the North American trucking and brokerage industry, to brokers, third-party logistics providers, shippers and carriers. Virtual Dispatch USA provides sales and training for the company’s products while the Canadian-based offices control operations, support and product development.
History
Virtual Dispatch was founded in 1997 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company began operations with Excelerate, an installed transportation management software solution, used primarily by trucking company dispatchers to dispatch, track, and invoice loads. The company introduced Excelerate 9000 in 2003, a more robust system for larger trucking companies, third party logistics providers and shippers. In 2006, the company launched Excelerate Live, a web-based subscription version.
Since 2001, the company has been a part of the Intuit Development Partnership program with QuickBooks, integrating QuickBooks products with Virtual Dispatch product offerings. Virtual Dispatch also offers an ACE Compliance System with a partnership through CrimsonLogic, part of the U.S. Custom and Border Protection’s Automated Commercial Environment modernization plan.
In 2002, Virtual Dispatch became a member of TIA, an education and policy organization for North American transportation intermediaries.
In 2008, Virtual Dispatch opened an office in the United States and named Tom Trimbach as president of Virtual Dispatch USA. The U.S. office provides sales and training for the company’s suite of TMS products including Excelerate, Excelerate 9000 and Excelerate Live. The US branch provides several training options that include web-base training, on-site training, “Train the Trainer”, and training “viewlets”.
Representative Virtual Dispatch customers include Transportation and Consolidation Services (TCS), Hanson Logistics, Kelron Logistics, Phoenix Solutions, LLC and Consolidated Carriers, Inc.
Software
Excelerate: The company’s initial product; a Microsoft Windows operating program designed for smaller businesses, supporting up to 50 trucks with five or fewer users. Excelerate is a less than truckload/truckload dispatch, installed software that can be combined with Excelerate 9000 when the business expands.
Excelerate 9000: A fully scalable, transportation management software system designed for mid-tier and larger carriers, brokers and transportation management firms. The software is hosted by Virtual Dispatch and supports an unlimited number of users and agents.
ACE Compliance System: Virtual Dispatch offers an Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Compliance System in partnership with CrimsonLogic. This system is designed for highway carriers and how they process shipments that are handled by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection; by requiring electronic manifest submissions to U.S. Customs prior to reaching the first port in the United States, moving cargo across the U.S. border takes less time and allows for two-way communication between Virtual Dispatch and the carrier.
