DocPath is a company of one hundred percent Spanish capital that specializes in document software development. Founded in 1992, under the Laserform name, its headquarters is in Madrid (Spain), and it has offices in Miguelturra (Ciudad Real, Spain), Brazil, Chile and the United States. Its president and founder, Julio Olivares, was an IBM employee for many years. Later, he started his own business which ultimately became DocPath. DocPath currently has approximately 70 employees and there are over 50,000 installations of its products all over the world. Corporate Culture Despite being a midsize organization and competing with giants of the market like Adobe, EMC and Esker, DocPath has become a leader in the document technology area. The basis of its success lies in its standards-based, modular, scalable and integral product. All of its document software solutions are quick and easy to implement. DocPath´s product portfolio covers the entire life cycle of documents, from design and generation to distribution of print or electronic documents via printers, email or fax. Its solutions support real-time form creation in Web environments, digitalizing printed documents and indexed storage for immediate online document retrieval. In order to increase its indirect sales and provide greater support to its customers, DocPath established a business partners program in April 2009 which has already signed up companies such as IECISA, InfoPrint, Datinet, Kyocera and Near Technologies, among others. One of the DocPath´s cornerstones is its commitment to innovation. The company spends over half of its income on research and development of new document software solutions. Business Model As a document software manufacturer, DocPath has its own development centers where a highly qualified staff of system engineers works on designing the new solutions that the market constantly demands. All DocPath products must pass strict quality control tests. The software is methodically tested against a wide range of technologies to verify initial product specification compliance and system integrity as well as for compatibility and usability compliance for customer applications and implementations. DocPath has its own support department which covers any incident and any doubt that its customers may encounter. DocPath provides training courses to give its customers the knowledge necessary to get the maximum performance from each of its solutions. Also, since DocPath´s business partners have received training, they are prepared to resolve any difficulty that might come up involving DocPath products.
