Victoria Nixon

Victoria Nixon (born 7 June 1948) is a British author and company director. She was previously an international fashion model, an advertising copywriter/producer, magazine editor, television producer and deli owner.
Early life
Victoria Nixon was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and educated at Barnsley Girl's High School. Her father owned a car dealership, her mother was a college bursar and she had one elder brother, an artist.
Career
At the age of eighteen she was discovered in London’s Bond Street by the late Helmut Newton who photographed her for Vogue, launching an international modelling career. Photographers she worked with include Norman Parkinson, Terence Donovan, Brian Duffy, David Bailey, Jean Loup Sieff, Arthur Elgort, Franco Rubartelli and Hiro. In 1968 she was the Daily Mail 'Face of the Year' and became known as 'The Profile' .Work from that period is in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
She became an award-winning copywriter in Melbourne and for 11 years from 1977 was the Melbourne editor of POL POL magazine an Australian avant garde fashion and lifestyle glossy.
She formed a film production company and originated and produced "The Price of Fame", a television series developed for Central TV, which featured a number of celebrity interviews on the subject. In 1992 she opened 'OneStopFresh', a delicatessen in Fulham, South London which was one of the first delis to make bespoke healthy lunchtime food.
Her first book was published in 2002 with contributions from Jerry Hall, Kate Moss, and Sophie Dahl amongst others - it has been translated into multiple languages, including Mongolian! It was followed by ‘ in 2004.
In 2008, with Michael Messenger, she co-founded Aircell Structures Ltd, a British company designing and manufacturing humanitarian aid products which are used worldwide. The London showroom was opened in 2012 by MP Greg Hands. The company has built up a reputation with the IFRC - International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies - for supplying effective, robust field equipment. And AirCell also supplies innovative inflatable medical tents to medical charities, such as Marie Stopes International, Vision Salud in Colombia and CIDRZ in Zambia. These tents have increased their ability to work far out into the countryside as autonomous units. AirCell equipment is working successfully in Nepal, Colombia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Tunisia, Jordan, Sudan, Mali, Malawi, Zanzibar, Uganda, Mozambique, Kenya, Madagascar and soon in Myanmar and Pakistan.
Personal life
Victoria’s third husband is designer Michael Messenger.
