Vicky Nizri Schoenfeld (Mexico City, November 25, 1954) Mexican writer, author of Vida Propia (A life of one's own), (2000), second prize in Mexico's 5th National Novel Award; Un Asalto Mayúsculo (1988) winner of the Ezra Jack Keats Book Award (New York, 1988); and the cycle of poems Lilith la otra carta de Dios (Lilith, the other card of God), (2002). Her collection of short stories Improbables, otros cuentos, y uno terrible (Improbables, other stories, and a terrifying one) is due for publication in 2012 and includes the prize winning story "Quién es otro" (Who is an Other). She is currently writing a second novel. She divides her time between Mexico and California.
