Vic Micolucci is a morning news anchor and investigative reporter at WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Fla. He's a Jacksonville native who attended Resurrection Catholic School, Paxon School for Advanced Studies and the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications, where he graduated with Highest Honors. Before signing with WJXT, Vic worked as a reporter for ABC News "On Campus" in Gainesville, as sports director for WUFT-TV, and as a reporter and host at the NPR-affiliate WUFT-FM. He interned with Channel 4 and the Florida Times-Union during summer breaks while in college. Vic's stories have been featured on ABC's Good Morning America, 20/20, Nightline and World News Tonight, various CNN and HLN programs, ESPNU, National Public Radio's Morning Edition and BBC Radio. His work has been honored with a Suncoast Emmy award, a national William Randolph Hearst award and two regional Edward R. Murrow awards. His reporting has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Broadcasting Society and the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters. Vic was voted Jacksonville's Best Investigative Reporter in Folio Weekly's "Best of Jax" readers poll. He was also honored by The Buzz Magazine as Jacksonville's Top 30 Future Leaders Under 30. Vic covered the 2008 and 2012 Presidential elections, the 2009 BCS National Championship and the 2010 NFL Super Bowl. He followed the Jacksonville Jaguars to their first game overseas in London in 2013 and the University of North Florida men's basketball team to the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. Vic led WJXT's live coverage of the George Zimmerman trial and headlined both Michael Dunn trials gavel-to-gavel. Vic's extensive work during the Dunn trial led to his appearance in the feature-length documentary "3½ Minutes: Ten Bullets," the movie about the case and the life of teenager Jordan Davis. Vic joined Davis' parents as the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Vic traveled to the White House where the documentary was shown, shortly after its debut. The film later screened on HBO and in theaters worldwide. Vic has also appeared as himself, speaking about the topics on 20/20 on Discovery ID and Nightline. Vic gained notoriety in the fall of 2016 for his non-stop reporting during Hurricane Matthew on Florida's Gulf Coast and Hurricane Matthew on Florida's East Coast. In November 2016, he was chosen to fly with the US Navy Blue Angels before their Sea and Sky Spectacular Show in Jacksonville Beach. In April 2016, he signed a deal to become WJXT's news anchor for The Morning Show 2 with Nikki Kimbleton. He worked on a documentary in Brazil in 2009, where he documented poverty's impact on education. Vic also works as a disc jockey and emcee at weddings, corporate events, fundraisers and school dances.
