Michael Konopasek is an American journalist. He is a general assignment reporter for KWTV Channel 9, the CBS affiliate in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Early career Konopasek is from the northwest Indiana suburbs of Chicago. He grew up in the towns of Griffith and Munster. He started his television career as an intern and Web reporter at WLS-TV, ABC7 Chicago. Konopasek served as a reporter at WTVW-TV in Evansville, Indiana and WPTA-TV/WISE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana before moving to Oklahoma City in 2011. Education Konopasek is a graduate of Ball State University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications and a minor in political science. While at Ball State, Konopasek worked in radio at WCRD-FM, WMDH-FM, and Indiana Public Radio. Konopasek also served as the host of the Emmy Award-winning television show Connections Live on WIPB-TV, the PBS affiliate in Muncie, Indiana (Indianapolis DMA). Acheivments Konopasek is the reciepient of two Emmy nominations. The Fox News Channel honored Konopasek in 2010 with a monetary prize for a report he produced on the hopes of revitalization in Gary, Indiana. Konopasek is a member of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Radio, Television, Digital News Association (RTDNA).
