Vernon Winfrey (born August 21, 1933) was a Coal miner, who later on became a barber, also the father of billionaire Oprah Winfrey. According to other sources (e.g. Answers.com), it retrieves that Vernon was an sailor in the U.S. Navy. Vernon was born in Greenville, Mississippi to David Winfrey (a car salesman), his first job was as a coal miner, and his second job was an city councilman and his other job was as a barber owning his own barber shop, putting fashion barbershop music to entertain his customers, he also appeared in one film called ' in 2003. He and a woman named Vernita Lee had a child named Oprah Gail Winfrey, she later on become an billionaire changing her name to only Oprah Winfrey. Vernon and Vernita weren't married. Currently he lives in Nashville, Tennessee working in his own barbershop in Nashville. |
