Vector Artist is a vector graphics editor which works to create and edit Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) images. It works on several platforms, including Windows 8, Android and Chrome. The Android version was built in Java. The Windows 8 version as built using the Unity 3D game engine together with the proprietary `Little Vector Library' for the 2D engine. They share much of the same source code. The Android version of Vector Artist is one of the most popular vector graphics editors on the platform having over a hundred thousand downloads. This being primarily due to it being one of the first vector graphics editors on the platform as the release coincided with the launch of several major Android tablets including the Nexus 7. Previously most tablets owned by people were Apple devices such as the iPad. Previous software developed by the same people include the popular Awesome Animator software for creating and editing SWF files. The company also has developed games which have been less successful.
