VaultLedger Tape Management System

VaultLedger is a Web-based tape management software application developed by B&L Associates, Inc..

B&L has also developed a more comprehensive tape management system called Vertices. The main difference between the two products centers on retention schedules. Vertices uses a policy-based retention schedule. That is, it is concerned with tracking and moving information contained on backup tapes and media. VaultLedger is more simplified and uses a calendar-based system. That is, it is concerned with tracking and moving the physical tapes and media at preset intervals.

VaultLedger supports both legacy and open environments and is operating system agnostic.

In late 2007, B&Lannounced that VaultLedger would support RFID technology, allowing users to move and track RFID-tagged tapes and other media via an RF handheld scanner.
