TemaTres is a free web-based thesaurus construction and management system. It is the only open source thesaurus construction system that encourages crowd sourced modifications to improve and expand its capabilities. It was developed by Diego Ferreyra of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) using PHP for a MySQL database. The thesauri of many literature databases, including: United Nations AGROVOC, U.S. National Agricultural Library, SafetyLit, U. S. Defense Technical Information Center, Centrope CEFrame flood risk assessment database, and more than 100 other key English and non-English systems are based on the TemaTres platform. Other uses of TemaTres include translating and exporting controlled vocabularies in formats such as Dublin Core, MADS, SKOS, Zthes, and other standards.
