Vasant Krishna Sharma

Vasant Krishna Sharma (born 1948 in Delhi, India) is an academic and humorist. He received his Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English from the University of Delhi in 1970.
Vasant Sharma comes from an illustrious family. His great grandfather Harnamdutt Shastri was famed as a Bhasyacharya. His father Professor Dasharatha Sharma was a noted historian and Indologist. His sister Shanta Sharma is an academic and historian.
Academic appointments
After graduating from Delhi University, Vasant Sharma was appointed as Lecturer in English at Ramjas College. In 1972 he was appointed Lecturer in English at Gyan Devi Salwan College, Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. In 1987 he was appointed Lecturer in English at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. He received the faculty appointment of Reader in the Department of English at the University of Delhi in 1985 and received the title of Associate Professor in 2006 .
In addition to Delhi University, Vasant Sharma is also on the guest faculty at Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technical University) since 1996. Since 2006 he is also counselor for the creative writing course at the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Humorist
Vasant Sharma is also a noted humorist, several of his essays have been published in the Indian Express newspaper.
