Foundations school community

Foundations School Community (FSC) was a private, non-profit, K-12 progressive school in Van Nuys, California, United States.
History
Foundations School Community was founded in 1994 by Paula Levy and Sheri Werner. With the dream of forming a progressive educational environment where students could foster a love of learning in a democratic school community, it began with only 14 students.
As FSC’s educational philosophy evolved, it added one grade per year, initially intending to become a K-6th grade school. However, in 2001, middle school was added, becoming the first K-8th grade progressive school in the San Fernando Valley.
The school closed at the conclusion of the 2010-2011 school year.
